Bringing hope and comfort for older people
Home and care home visiting
BCM's project serving older people based in east Birmingham brings important contact and friendship to clients who are often isolated and needing support. Its team of staff and volunteers visit private residences and care homes to bring the hope and comfort of Jesus to older people in Birmingham.

Care home visits
We support churches in delivering Christian services in care homes around south Birmingham. We aim to visit care homes in our scheme once a month with an interactive explanation of a passage from the Bible and plenty of singing of hymns from the past. We always end with conversation over a dementia-friendly craft.
If your church would like support to hold dementia-friendly services and activity sessions in your local care home, fill in our church enquiry form.
Home Visiting Scheme
Our visiting scheme is designed for people aged 66+ who live in the B25, B26,B27 and B28 areas and who experience loneliness and social isolation. Scheme members are visited by our trained staff and volunteers who visit in pairs. We accept referrals for those who live independently or in assisted living accommodation and who lack a strong social network. Please get in touch if you would like more information about the scheme, or download ElderLink's Visiting Scheme leaflet.
If you would like to refer someone to the scheme, fill in our ElderLink Visiting Scheme referral form.
We are looking for Christian volunteers to join our team and visit those who are housebound or socially isolated, to chat and offer encouragement and a kind listening ear. If you can offer one day a week or month to provide hope and comfort for older adults in the Acocks Green and Yardley area? Please get in touch via our Visiting Scheme volunteer contact form.
