Convention Kids

On Saturday 9th May, alongside the adult programme, we are once again running sessions for those aged 12 and under. These will have a fun, holiday club style and we will learn about God’s awesome rescue plan and the part we can play in it. There will be craft, games, Bible stories, snacks, and so much more!

These sessions will be led by the Birmingham City Mission Children’s Team and we’d love to see you there.

Please register your children through this online form. Bookings will close on Wednesday 6th May.

Any questions please get in touch: childrensteam@birminghamcitymission.co.uk

Seminar leaders

Jason O’Shea, his wife Tayo O’Shea and Tayo’s mother, Sarah Olumegbon lead a ministry called Operation Forgiveness as part of London City Mission. This is an early intervention initiative designed to combat violence that affects young people. It was birthed from the tragic loss of Sarah’s youngest son, Zac, who was stabbed and murdered at the age of 15.

Ronald Skelton is Headmaster of Broadway Academy, an outdoor education centre and working farm in Worcester, and is the longest-serving secondary headteacher in Birmingham. In 2021 Ron set up Redditch Youth for Christ. He speaks at conferences on subjects such as leadership, school improvement, Christian ethos and conflict resolution.

Canon Dr Andrew Smith is the Director of Interfaith Relations for the Bishop of Birmingham and has worked amongst people of different faiths in Birmingham for over 30 years. He has written extensively on interfaith relations, including the book ‘Vibrant Christianity in Multi-Faith Britain’.
