Christmas Appeal 2024
This Christmas please make a donation and help BCM care for struggling families, the homeless and elderly, and to be a friend to the lonely.
Christmas can be full of joy and gladness as we give and receive gifts, spend time with loved ones and enjoy good food. But we know that for many it is a time of stress, sadness and loneliness. Thousands in our city are homeless or threatened with homelessness. Many are anxious about bills and putting food on the table. Many are alone, remembering lost family and broken relationships.
At Birmingham City Mission we seek to bring joy and peace to those who are really struggling. We will distribute thousands of toys to families in need. We will care for the homeless and elderly. We will provide food to people who cannot afford to buy it. We will be a friend to the lonely.
Ultimately, we know that only God can be our joy and peace in life and beyond. 700 years before Jesus was born, the prophet Isaiah wrote about him:
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Please give a special gift this Christmas to help us share God’s love across Birmingham. We couldn’t do this without your generosity.
